Tiger

Sign:

The tiger is the sign of bravery and daring

Basic Character:

Tiger-people though somewhat inclined to self-aggrandisement,

are at heart sympathetic, sensitive and considerate. There is

indeed a tendency to preen themselves within their particular

circle of admirers. However, on the credit side, tigers have

courage, are down-to-earth, and will risk life and limb in a good

cause. If at times they are had-tempered, one should not

immediately apportion blame, but rather look for the cause. A

tiger year is good for those born in that year, irrespective of sex.

Such children are likely to be brave, adventurous and

progressive. 'The wind of change' also began to blow long ago

in the Far East, uplifting woman's once secondary position, for

Eastern women are slowly but steadily entering a man's world on

a professional basis with remarkable success. Tiger types get on

fairly well with most animal characters, although there is likely to

be minor conflicts with Snake and Monkeys.

The Tiger Lover:

Tigers make ardent and virile lovers. Because of their sensuality,

their impetuousness and love of adventure, there is a frisson of

excitement that not only follows Tigers wherever they go, but

guarantees them a certain irrestible sexy allure. Needless to say,

these creatures whose emotions are outfront, have strong libidos

and are lusty in their passions. Generally flirtatious, they are

especially prone to wild flings in their early years but do settle

down as they get older. When committed to a happy and fulfilling

relationship, these people make loving and caring partners,

warm-hearted and generous. They don*t, however, lose that

romantic streak, nor that exciting ability to surprise.

The Tiger Parent:

Tigers make excellent parents No mother or father could be

courageous, more defensive and, of need be, more aggressive, in

the caring and protection of their child. Exciting and stimulating,

they are always prepared to try out new theories, new ideas and

will sweep their children along in their enthusiasm. And if their

offspring should take up a new hobby or bring home a project

from school, the Tiger parent is likely to get quite carried away in

the excitement of joining in. Open-minded and non-conformist

themselves, they are able to understand any rebellious

tendencies in their young, but they WILL NOT brook bad

behaviour or discourtesy from them towards others. They believe

in teaching their children by their own example, or by putting

views and lessons on life across in story-form, especially if

there's a moral or two tucked away somewhere in the tale.

The Tiger child:

Little Tigers make bright, friendly and affectionate

children, ever inventive and full of life and of bright ideas. They

are boisterous, noisy and competitive with no less energy and

enthusiasm for life than their adult counterparts. With their sunny

and outgoing natures, they easily make friends and soon become

popular amongst their peers. Quick to learn and to catch on, they

have a Peter-Pan excitement about life that leads them to ask

interminable questions and that gives them a driving desire to

explore to the very limits of their environment and their

experience. They can be stubborn changes of mood - unless

taught from a very early age the value of compromise. As they

grow in against authority, to rebel against conventions, against

rules and regulations. Consequently, in carving out their own

destiny for themselves, some could well go against the wishes of

their parents, drop out or experiment for a time with a Bohemian

way of life.

Health:

Tigers generally enjoy good, vigorous health. They do, however,

need to learn to pace themselves so that they use their energies

more consistently rather that over-stretch their resources in great

swoops of activity that then leaves them exhausted and in need

of recurperation.

Compatibility:

Tigers are compatible with Horses. Both love activity and living

life to the full. To say nothing of the fact that the Horse is better

at sensing danger than the more scattered Tiger. The Boar

provides him with security; practical, fun-loving Dogs are also a

good match. Dogs are probably the only Animal sign capable of

reasoning with the Tiger. Rats, Sheep and Roosters combine well

with the Tiger, as do other Tigers, although that relationship is

sure to be strenuous. About all the extravagant Tiger and the

cool, collected Snake have in common is am equally suspicious

view of the world. In the Tiger, this expresses itself in rash

accusation, but the ways of the Snake are cold and calculated.

They never find harmony. The Monkey has no defence but to

deceive the Tiger with its clever ways, whereas the rebelliousness

of the Tiger is sure to enrage the Ox. In a contest like that, the

Tiger always loses.
