Sheep

The Sign:

The Sheep is the sign of the Arts.

Basic Character:

Sheep people are said to be kind and sympathetic to those less

fortunate. Such people are self-effacing, shunning notoriety, acclaim

or the bubble reputation. It is for this reason that although sheep

people are ambitious, they seldom reach the top of the ladder of

success, business-wise of professionally. However, the sign of the

sheep carries the hallmark of good breeding and good taste,

coupled with wisdom. Since the herd instinct predominates amongst

sheep year people, this is reflected in their association with other

animal year types with whom they are good mixers. A possible

exception is with people born in a snake year. In Sheep years there

is generally more co-operation between nations, even if such co-

operation is based on detente.

The Sheep lovers:

In matters of Love, it is the Sheep's heart which rules its head.

These people work best as part of a team, so a secure, stable and

loving relationship is essential for their emotional well-being.

Perhaps more than any other sigh, Sheep are homelovers and are

tailor-made for marriage and family life. Indeed the family is so

important to them that when they do settle down, it is likely to be

round the corner from mum and dad, or from their other married

brothers and sisters, where they feel they are cushioned and have

the full protection of the extended family to fall back on if needed.

Next to love and security, they crave peace and harmony,

consequently they will bend over backwards within their

relationships to keep things running smoothly. As they hate discord

of any kind their partners shouldn*t ever expect them to get

embroiled in an argument for these people, quite infuriatingly

sometimes, will simply retreat into silence. As lovers they can be

clingy and dependent. Highly sensual, they cuddling and making

love. However, despite all their need for tranquility, partners of

Sheep should note that these people want what they want and will

all too often wear down opposition with tears and tantrums in order

to get their own way!

The Sheep parent:

Patents born in the year of the Sheep possess a strong mothering

instinct. Possessiveness is one of the negative attributes of this sign

and many a Sheep mother and gather must be mindful of a

tendency to smother their offspring. But in general these are deeply

affectionate people with an immense love of their families and their

home. Good manners and the social graces are so important to

Sheep-born fold that parents will instil them into their children from

a very early age.

The Sheep Child:

Youngsters born under the influence of the Sheep are clingy,

dependent and affectionate. They have a tendency to cry easily and

when either upset or unable to get what they want they may well

resort to sulkiness. Often lacking in self-confidence, they like to feel

protected and secure and they need a great deal of support from

their parents and teachers early in their lives. Generally speaking,

these little lambs are polite and respectful towards their parents and

superiors, neat and tidy in their habits, shun, conflict and rebellion

whenever and wherever possible and are, on the whole, extremely

easy to get on with. The one proviso to remember with Sheep

children in never to tease or make fun of them for their fragile

sensitivities are deeply affected by embarrassment and ridicule.

Health:

The need for love, security and emotional stability are at the root of

the Sheep's well-being. Without these comforts, natives of this sign

would soon find their unhappiness taking its till on their health.

Equally, the Sheep*s sensitivity is responsible for any malaise they

might suffer. However they are blessed with staying power and if

they can keep their personal relationships together, they will be able

to maintain the peace and stability that is so essential to their good

health.

Compatibility:

The Sheep does best surrounded with those who are stronger, more

direct and even more bad-tempered that he. Sheep partners must

complement these shy creatures rather than resemble them. The

extroverted, optimistic Horse is the perfect foil to the sensitive

Sheep. Rabbits and Sheep are highly compatible and make the best

of friends. They understand each other on a deep intuitive level. The

versatile Monkey, the fiery Dragon and the eccentric Rooster all

make satisfactory associations. Oxen lack sensitivity to fully

appreciate the sentimental Sheep. Thrifty Rats will fight with Sheep

over money, much to the Sheep*s surprise. Dogs have no patience

with seemingly endless Sheep woes and moodiness. Oddly, two

Sheep can sometimes combine their apparent weaknesses into a

strongly united front.
