Rooster
The Sign:
The Rooster is the sign of honesty.
Basic Character:
Deep thinkers are said to be born in the year of the rooster, also
workaholics. Somewhat domineering and arrogant are rooster people,
their distrust of others not making for good comradeship. Rooster
people are also rather forthright, sometimes painfully so, which does
not help in fostering good human relationships. On the positive side,
rooster people posses courage of a high order which is often
exhibited in a difficult situation. Rooster people purses success, but
often do not arrive because they are too near sighted and do not
generally have the necessary financial know-how. People of a rooster
year also have a sense of gamesmanship and competition: c.f. the
popularity of rooster fights in south east Asia. Socially and in spite of
being egocentric and a trifle overbearing and selfish, rooster people
get on well with most animal types, but perhaps less well with people
born in the rooster or dog years. Interest could well be stimulated in
combative sports, such as boxing and wrestling, in a Rooster year,
together with the spirit of adventure, entailing expeditions and the
like, where courage, enterprise and daring are required.
The Rooster lover:
Emotionally, Roosters see the world as either black or white-with
hardly any shades of grey in between. Consequently, when itcomes to
individual people, Roosters will immediately either lovethem or hate
them on sight. The salient characteristic attributed tothese people is
their honesty and Roosters are never backwards in
coming forwards to speak their mind. It is rather helpful to the
success of their relationships, then, if their partners could develop a
thick skin-and fast-because Rooster are notoriously critical people and
equally notoriously blunt. Their sheer lack of tact, coupled with a
rather sanctimonious holier-than-thou attitude to life, has been
responsible for the breaking up of many a Rooster's marriage. Yet
Rooster males are dashing, handsome chaps and will have young
women flocking to be at their sides. Their Hen counterparts, stylish in
the classical vein, will attract their suitors through their no-nonsense,
down-to-earth approach to life. In love, neither male nor female
Rooster will wear their hearts on their sleeves; indeed these are
rather dark horses who keep even the minutest detail about their
sexual exploits or their love affairs strictly to themselves.
The Rooster parent:
Rooster parents can be strict, conformist and rather old-fashioned.
Perhaps not the most sensitive mothers and fathers of the animal
zodiac, nor indeed the most compassionate towards their offspring,
they are sticklers for detail and strong on discipline. Staunch believers
in the status quo, many a Rooster father will be heard to preface will
be heard to preface his admonishment to his youngsters with, 'when
I was a boy we were expected to ... ...'
The Rooster child:
In general, childhood for Roosters is a happy and contented time
although there may be one or two slight hiccoughs to overcome.
Youngster belonging to this sigh are bright and vivacious with a
cheeky sort of charm. All Roosters love dressing up and little
fledglings in particular will amuse themselves happily for hours if
given a bag of old clothes, a few hats and some broken baubles from
the jewellery box. At school, though they are attentive, hard-working
and keen to learn, they are perhaps not the most academic high-fliers
one is likely to meet. However, they will excel in all the subjects
where social shills are required and many a young Rooster will
distinguish themselves on the sports field.
Health:
Because Roosters, are so active and energetic and enjoy taking part in
sports, they do tend to keep themselves fairly fit. Psychologically,
those born under this influence are inclined to dramatic mood swings
and should learn to keep on a more even keel. Moreover, their high
standards of excellence coupled with their competitiveness puts them
in the Category A grouping for stress and tension with all the
accompanying health problems these condition produce.
Compatibility:
The Rooster makes the best match with the wise and intuitive Snake
who is cool enough not to overreact to anything the Rooster has to
say about him. The Snake appreciates the effervescent personality and
dauntless outlook of the Rooster, and the Rooster likes the Snake*s
quiet understanding. Both highly organised, the Ox and Rooster love
keeping to each other's schedules and work together tirelesslly. The
Dragon appreciated the grandiose plans of the Rooster and may even
be able to implement them. Tigers, Sheep, Monkeys and Boars can all
get along quite well with Roosters, as long as all signs remember to
give and take.
