Rabbit

Rabbit Sign:

The Rabbit is the sign of peace, of grace and of family life.

Basic Character:

Rabbits/ Hares have a fundamental mother instinct. Womanly instincts

might on occasion show in the case of a male rabbit, which in no way

lessons his maleness. A happy, non-belligerent people are rabbits, with

an acceptance of their fate. Although ambitious they are not front

runners. In spite of their timidity, they are lovable, well-liked

characters. They have good business acumen and are careful

circumspect when confronted with the hazards of life. Rabbits are

sociable and get on well with most animal types, possibly with the

exception of rats, cocks and dragons. A Rabbit year could see an

increase in the birth rate.

The Rabbit Lovers:

Though Rabbits are sensitive, sentimental creatures, emotional and

easily moved to tears, when it comes to committing themselves to a

long-term relationship, they can be quite mercenary. Their driving

passion is a desire for an easy life, filled with as much comfort and

luxury as they allegiance to someone who will not only provide security

and stability but who will also guarantee as much of la dolce vita as

they can. But to give them their due, once they have found the right

partner, they make faithful husbands or wives, dedicated home-makers,

devoting themselves to their families and to their homes. And, by the

way, their sensuality usually ensures that are Rabbit family will be a

large one.

The Rabbit parent:

Rabbits often have large families, which is just as well because they do

have a deeply sensual nature and are known to be rather libidinous

types. Indeed, the procreative habits of this furry little creature are

quite legendary! But to give them their due, though they may be

sensual, they are in general very faithful to their partners. As parents,

they make excellent teachers to their young, strongly protective but

also fairly possessive too. Yet they can come across as possibly a little

remote to their children, a little too emotionally cool and distant.

The Rabbit Child:

Rabbit children are in general well-behaved and easy to bring up but

noticeably tender and sensitive. As a sign, these are very emotional

people, easily moved and even when young they stand out as rather

prone to crying. Both boys and girls have a strong attachment to their

mothers to the point where boys may be unkindly labeled as

'mummy's boys' or considered to be *tied to their mother's apron-

strings'. And because of that soft inner core they learn very early on to

mask their sensitivities and to build a protective barrier that will shield

their feelings from the outside world.

Health:

Rabbits are said to enjoy longevity. However, the biggest problem for

Rabbits is that they are not able to deal with stress very well. Members

of other signs may actively enjoy the sudden surge of adrenalin that

comes from confrontational situation, and even get a positive charge

out of it. But not so those born during the year of the Rabbit because

for these, living or working under too much stress or pressure, is the

quickest way of endangering their health. For the Rabbit, then,

tranquility is the essence of good health and well-being.

Compatibility:

The Sheep is perhaps the best match for the inscrutable

Rabbit; bothshare innate good taste and love of luxury. Relationships

with the loyalDog or pleasure-seeking Boar are often happy and

productive. It is saidthat Rabbits and Snakes are the stuff legendary

love affairs are madeof, although these lovers may baffle those around

them. Tiger andRabbits rarely get along-they understand each other too

well. Relationships with the unruly Horse and devious Monkey can also

be difficult. Rabbits prefer tranquility to careering off in twelve

directions. Peace-loving and flexible, the Rabbit gets along well with

the Ray, Dragon and Ox. Relationships with other Rabbits are not

passionate, but they can nevertheless be very compatible if allowed

separate spheres of influence. On no account should they attempt

serious involvement with the brash Rooster. The abrasive criticism of

this sign will send a Rabbit running into permanent hiding.
